  • Schoolwide Authority

All schools in the Choctaw County School System operate Title I Schoolwide Programs which means that they receive federal funds to supplement state and local efforts in providing educational services. A schoolwide program is a comprehensive reform effort designed to upgrade the entire educational program in a Title I school. The goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, perform at proficient and advanced levels on challenging state academic standards. Schoolwide programs must conduct a comprehensive needs assessment; identify and commit to specific goals and strategies to address those needs; create a continuous improvement plan; and conduct an annual review of the effectiveness of the schoolwide program. Plans may be revised in accordance with school needed.

2019 Application for Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance

  • Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance Procedures

Eligibility Requirements - Sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled and attending school at Choctaw County High and Southern Choctaw High are eligible to apply for Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance for one course (approved core or elective) during the academic year.  Repeat, remedial, and non-credit courses are not eligible for funding.  Failure of a previous Dual Enrollment course disqualifies a student from future tuition assistance.  Withdrawal from a Dual Enrollment course without district approval disqualifies a student from future tuition assistance. Applicants must meet all participation requirements of post-secondary institutions who are in partnership with the school district.

Application Process – Interested students must complete and submit the district’s Tuition Assistance Application by the announced due date.  Incomplete and or late applications will not be reviewed or considered for funding.  Receipt of applications will be recorded upon submission to the district office and processed by the review team.  This team will be comprised of members of the District Leadership Team.

Awarding of Applications - Where funds are available, 100% of tuition cost will be awarded to all eligible applicants.  If funds are insufficient to provide 100% tuition cost to all eligible applicants, awards will be distributed until funds are exhausted. Awarded applicants and their respective schools will receive written notice of approval.
